The LIFECARTE system was created and developed by the French company CELAVIE SAS. CELAVIE SAS owns the patent for the technology used to read information on the chip via a mobile telephone and without a code or network connection.
CELAVIE has been marketing LIFECARTE since November 2003 in France and since 2005 in China , Denmark and Spain . A licensing agreement is currently in effect to ensure LIFECARTE is present in Jordan , Lebanon and Egypt .
